Space: 1999 is a British science fiction television series, created by Gerry Anderson. It ran for two seasons, consisting of 48 episodes which originally aired from 1975 to 1977. Starring Martin Landau, Barbara Bain, Barry Morse and Catherine Schell.
The story revolves around Moonbase Alpha and it's 311 inhabitants, led by Commander John Koenig, who are hurled out of Earth orbit after a nuclear explosion and travel uncontrollably into deep space, searching for a new place to live.
